The ingestion of cereals and milk, in normal modern dietary amounts by normal humans, activates reward centres in the brain. Foods that were common in the diet before agriculture (fruits and so on) do not have this pharmacological property. The effects of exorphins are qualitatively the same as those produced by other opioid and / or dopaminergic drugs, that is, reward, motivation, reduction of anxiety, a sense of wellbeing, and perhaps even addiction. Though the effects of a typical meal are quantitatively less than those of doses of those drugs, most modern humans experience them several times a day, every day of their adult lives. ............ We suggested further that constant exorphin intake facilitated the behavioural changes and subsequent population growth of civilisation, by increasing people's tolerance of (a) living in crowded sedentary conditions, (b) devoting effort to the benefit of non-kin, and (c) playing a subservient role in a vast hierarchical social structure.

Deepak Chopra - How To Manifesting Your Desires? ------------------------- About Deepak Chopra: Deepak Chopra ( October 22, 1947) is an Indian American author and public speaker. He is an alternative medicine advocate and a promoter of popular forms of spirituality. He has been described by the New York Times as a "controversial New-Age guru" though Chopra says guru is "a title I’ve rejected for thirty years". Through his books and videos, he has become one of the best-known and wealthiest figures in the "holistic-health" movement. Chopra studied medicine in India before emigrating in 1970 to the United States. As a physician he specialized in endocrinology and became Chief of Staff at the New England Memorial Hospital (NEMH). In the 1980s he began to practice transcendental meditation (TM). In 1985 he resigned his position at NEMH to establish the Maharishi Ayurveda Health Center. Chopra left the TM movement in 1994 and founded the Chopra Center for Wellbeing. He gained a following in the 1990s after his interview on the The Oprah Winfrey Show regarding his books. Chopra states that, combining principles from Ayurveda (Hindu traditional medicine) and mainstream medicine, his approach to health incorporates ideas about the mind-body relationship, a belief in teleology in nature and a belief in the primacy of consciousness over matter – that "consciousness creates reality". He claims that his practices can extend the human lifespan and treat chronic disease. As of 2014, Deepak Chopra lived in a "health-centric" condominium in Manhattan The ideas Chopra promotes have been regularly criticized by medical and scientific professionals as pseudoscience. This criticism has been described as ranging "from dismissive [to] damning".For example, Robert Carroll states Chopra attempts to integrate Ayurveda with quantum mechanics to justify his teachings. Chopra argues that what he calls "quantum healing" cures any manner of ailments, including cancer, through effects that he claims are literally based on the same principles as quantum mechanics. This has led physicists to object to his use of the term quantum in reference to medical conditions and the human body. His treatments benefit from the placebo response, and some argue that his claims for the effectiveness of alternative medicine can lure sick people away from medical treatments. He is placed by David Gorski among the "quacks", "cranks" and "purveyors of woo", and described as "arrogantly obstinate". Richard Dawkins publicly exposed Chopra, accusing him of using "quantum jargon as plausible-sounding hocus pocus". --------------------- --------------------------- ► SUBSCRIBE FOR MORE VIDEOS: https://goo.gl/Bxn7xo ------------------------------------------ ------------------------------ ► Thanks for watching!

Deepak Chopra - How To Increase Positive Outcomes ------------------------- About Deepak Chopra: Deepak Chopra ( October 22, 1947) is an Indian American author and public speaker.

This Progress Report video was completed for the 2013 CGI Annual Meeting. It details progress on Delos Living's commitment to action The WELL Being Standard. In 2012, Delos committed to developing and deploying the WELL standard, the first building standard focused exclusively on people's health and wellness, proscribing construction techniques and technologies to address key parameters identified by Delos as impacting human health. The Standard is meant to operate alongside new and existing sustainability-based building standards, such as LEED and the Living Building Challenge. It will include seven categories of features and amenities: air, water, nourishment, light, fitness, comfort, and mind. After preparing the documents that will comprise the WELL Standard, the Standard will be implemented and constructed in a variety of buildings over the remaining years of the commitment, including hotel rooms, residences in downtown Manhattan, offices in Washington, D.C., three additional residential developments in downtown Manhattan, and a line of wellness resorts.
